Tennessee Ernie Ford

The first president of the Gospel Music Association elected in 1964, Ernie lent his name and visibility worldwide in the formative years of G.M.A. He is a performer with many awards and #1 national secular chart hits. A recording artist, former radio disc jockey in Bristol Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia, television personality and popular entertainer. The closing spot on his nationally programed TV show for years was a gospel song, bringing a large audience to the gospel. He served as a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame Advisory Committee. Continuing his varied business interest and recording gospel music, he resides near San Francisco, California.
