Jimmie Davis, former governor of Louisiana, has been singing, writing and publishing music since early 1930. He was with Decca Records longer than any artist they have ever recorded, and currently is with Canaan Records. For the past several years he has restricted his recordings to Gospel songs and hymns, and has more than twenty-five albums still available. He has served as President of the Gospel Music Association (1967). Mr. Davis served eight years as the Chief Executive of Louisiana and in 1972, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
