James Rowe

James Rowe was born in Devonshire England on January 1, 1865.  He came to the United States in 1890.  His adult life was spent writing songs and editing music journals.  He was associated with Trio Music Co., A.J. Showalter Music Co., and the James D. Vaughan Music Co.  In his later years he lived in Vermont and devoted his time to writing verse for various greeting card publishers.  He was the writer of more than 19,000 songs.  Some of the more well known are, “I Walk With the King”, “I Would Be Like Jesus”, and the classic, “Love Lifted Me”.
