Gloria Gaither

Gloria Gaither was born on March 4, 1942 in Battle Creek, Michigan.  She graduated Cum Laude from Anderson University in 1963 and did graduate work at Ball State University and Anderson Theological Seminary in Anderson, Indiana.  She married William J. (Bill) Gaither in 1962 and became a member of a songwriting team that has allowed her to serve as a lyricist on over 500 songs.  She is a noted writer having authored over 40 books.  As a performing artist and member of the Bill Gaither Trio, she has recorded over 40 albums.  Working alongside with Bill, Gloria is a co-author of numerous songs that have received the Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association. In 1985, she received a Dove Award for Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.  Gloria has received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane letters from four colleges and universities.

She is the wife of Bill Gaither, the mother of three children, and the grandmother of seven grandchildren.
